Custom events

Record any action, such as a signup or a purchase, with one call. Custom events never count toward your plan's pageviews.

The first argument is the event name. The optional props add details you can break down and filter by in the dashboard.

Calling it before the script loads

The script loads with defer, so it may not be ready when your code runs. Add this line before any call, and early events wait until the script is ready:

Limits

  • Event names can be up to 64 characters. pageview and engagement are reserved.
  • Up to 30 properties per event. Property names use letters, numbers, and underscores, up to 64 characters.
  • Property values are text, numbers, or true and false, up to 300 characters. Longer values are left out.

Keep it anonymous

Never put names, email addresses, or other personal details in events or properties. Nocrumbs is built to hold nothing personal, and your events should keep it that way.
